ELE 701 Photonic Devices(GNA)

2 laboratory hours, 2 lecture hours; 3 credits.  Fundamentals of optics and optoelectronic devices. Ray optics, lenses and mirrors, wave optics, interference and diffraction gratings, electromagnetic optics, dispersion and pulse propagation, polarization, Jones, matrices, isolators, waveguides and fibers, semiconductor lasers and photodetectors.
