AAD 266 Contemporary African Issues(RLA)(CW)(P&D)

(Also HST 267). 4 hours; 4 credits. An examination of post-colonial African issues, including the colonial legacy/neocolonialism; conflict and human rights; development, poverty and the debt problems; healthcare and infrastructure; globalization; democracy, and multiparty politics; and, how these relate to the world at large. For History majors and minors, this is designated as a World history course. (p&d) (cont. wld.) (social science). For African and African Diaspora Studies majors and minors, this is designated as an Africa course. Please Note: This course satisfies the college option. Prerequisites: ENG 151, COR 100 and any college-level history course or African and African Diaspora Studies course.
